This Minton China Works tile dates to the early 1880s and was transfer printed in black on ivory. Like many tiles in the Aesthetic and Eastlake styles, it combines naturalistic and geometric designs. Minton was considered one of the premier ceramics manufacturers of the mid-19th through early 20th centuries.
