Maw & Co. was founded in 1850 by George and Arthur Maw. By 1883 the British company had become the largest tile producer in the world, making more than 20 million tiles a year, including encaustic, earthenware, and ceramic tiles. This is a copy of one of a set of 8 floral transferware tiles produced around 1880 in Shropshire England. Makes a great set of accent tiles or border on a wall or backsplash or use your favorite as a coaster, trivet, or decorative piece displayed in a frame or on a small easel.
