今川義元: Imagawa Yoshimoto, was a pre-eminent daimyo in the Sengoku period Japan who is considered on par with Takeda and Uesugi, based in Suruga Province, he was one of the three daimyos that dominated the Tokaido region. During his march to Tokyo to become Shogun in 1560, he was dramtically defeated and killed by Oda Nobunaga in Okehazama with suprise attack after a storm. This marked the end of the Imagawa clan and the rise of Oda. 東海道一の弓取り: The top samurai of Tokaido, is the nickname of Yoshimoto due to his domination in the Eastern Sea circuit of Japan at the time. In the background is the kamon (family crest) of Sanada, Imagawa Akadori (今川赤鳥) or "Imagawa Phoenix" on the left and Futatsu hikiryo (二つ引両) or "Double Line", on top is the armor set of Yoshimoto, and his samurai signature on the right side.
