Patriarchal Cross is a Christian symbol consisting of a Latin cross with an additional horizontal line on top, usually longer than its vertical line. The symbol emerged in the 8th century and was initially used by bishops and patriarchs of the Eastern Christian Church, then used more widely as a liturgical symbol in the Eastern Orthodox Church and Eastern Catholic Church.
