Little Sable Point Lighthouse Notebook
The first time I saw this lighthouse took my breath away! I had been heading home because I knew it would be getting dark soon. I had just seen a sign pointing toward a lighthouse. I hadn't been to this lighthouse and I wasn't sure when I would be back in that area. Yep! I stopped. I was alone. I got out of my car and started toward the sign. After a few steps, I stopped completely. The lighthouse rose up for me to see how tall is was. WOW! It was TALL and beautiful!!! I stayed long enough to get some pictures and eventually made it home. Since that day, that is my favorite lighthouse and I have visited it several times. Standing on this spot since 1874, this lighthouse was originally called Petite Pointe Au Sable Lighthouse (little point of sand). It is now referred to as Little Sable Point Lighthouse.
