The Liberty Tree Flag began flying in September, or by 20 October A.D. 1775, on the first 7 ships of the Continental Navy, created when the Commander in Chief, General George Washington commissioned the ships to attack British supply ships to deny those provisions to the British Army in Boston, and provide those supplies to the Continental forces. One ship, the Lively, captured by Captain John Manning had 30,000 pairs of shoes onboard, but 'bureaucrats' delayed delivery to the Army
