Adam and Eve and the Tree of Knowledge postcard : This vintage art is a woodcut/ illustration of Adam and Eve by artist Jacob Rueff, 1500-1558, from a book on midwifery. It depicts Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden standing beneath the Tree of Knowledge represented here as an interesting blend of skeleton and tree, there is of course a serpent in the tree. it shows when Eve tempts Adam to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
