Sunset on Mars as photographed by NASA's Curiosity rover. Sundown in Gale Crater on the 956th day, or sol (April 15, 2015), of the Curiosity mission. Customizable text reading "SUNSET AT GALE CRATER" also appears. When the photograph was taken there was much very fine dust in the atmosphere. Normal daylight conditions enhance the reddish, rusty color of the dust. However, light conditions at sunset make the sky look more blue. Image credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS/Texas A&M University.
