I was gobsmacked to read a PLoS paper published on June 15th, 2017 by Lourenço-de-Oliveira R, Failloux A-B (2017) called "Lessons learned on Zika virus vectors". PLoS Negl Trop Dis 11(6): e0005511. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pntd.0005511 The authors referred to the study by Guo et al. 2016 as "one discordant study" that found Culex to be Zika vectors. I also published a short PSA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og81-2vaat0 In the comments section, I left the following response titled "Culex, Birds (Bulbuls), and Wolbachia Must Be Investigated": http://journals.plos.org/plosntds/article/comment?id=10.1371/annotation/6c68cbd7-58f4-481f-b6b3-c133cadb733d And wouldn't you know it? The next day I discovered the paper by Elizondo-Quiroga et al. 2017 titled "Zika Virus in Salivary Glands of Five Different Species of Wild-Caught Mosquitoes from Mexico" which also confirmed Culex as Zika vectors. So, I decided to create some Zazzle products to help fund ethical Zika research and my Zika documentary.
