St. Gertrude of Nivelles (b. 626- d. 659) was a 7th-century Religious Abbess who, with her mother Itta, founded the Abbey of Nivelles located in present-day Belgium. St. Gertrude is the patron of cats, gardeners, travelers, the recently deceased, those with Mental Illness, and those with a morbid fear of mice and rats. Her feast day is March 17th, the same day as St. Patrick. All text and fonts may be modified.
