This is a beautiful vintage traditional Catholic image by artist Murillo, of St. Joseph with the Blessed Mother and the Child Jesus playing with a little white dog. Blessed Pope Pius I declared St. Joseph the Patron of the Universal Church 150 years ago. He wrote “Go to Joseph! Have recourse with special confidence to St. Joseph, for his protection is most powerful, as he is the patron of the universal Church.” Marking the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being declared patron of the universal church, Pope Francis proclaimed a year long celebration dedicated to the foster father of Jesus. The Pope concluded his new apostolic letter (Patris corde (“With a father’s heart”) by urging Catholics to pray to St. Joseph for “the grace of graces: our conversion.” He ended the text with a prayer: “Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To you God entrusted his only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became man. Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life.
