This is a Romney sheep; animals of this breed are hardy, healthy and adaptable, with a thick, heavy fleece. This lamb is white although some Romney variations can be mottled brown or black in color and pattern. These sheep originated in England, first recorded in the 1800's, and are favorites as livestock in several countries and regions including New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Brazil and California. This adorable baby lamb has mud on the forehead and under the eye, and a notched ear, giving a "scrappy" appearance!
