St Florian with Bucket Clear Skies M 019 3x6 Pillar Candle Affiliate icon

According to tradition, St. Florian once stopped a town from burning down to the ground with a single bucket of water… and prayer, of course. It is this feat that is depicted in our featured image. We have provided the basic image with two different backgrounds: one with soft white clouds against an aqua blue sky as here; the other with billows of dark smoke. St. Florian is patron saint of firefighters. + Feast: May 4 + Image Credit (M 019): Figure of St. Florian of Lorch extracted from an antique, late 19th-century Eastern European devotional print in chromolithography, original publisher unknown, from the designer’s private collection of religious ephemera. The background of smoke-free aqua skies with soft white clouds was generated using the Filter Forge filter ‘Clouds’ by Squideey.
