Adding ANYTHING to the backside—a word, an icon, a picture, even a white or solid background color—will trigger a surcharge/an upcharge! + Add a finishing touch to your Mary Garden with a garden flag from Saints_Aplenty on Zazzle! This flag features the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) with the Christ Child in a garden of roses and lilies. A standing Mary, who wears a white veil, blue gown, and cream-colored mantle, accepts a stem of lilies from the Christ Child. The boy Jesus, dressed in red, hands the bloom to his mother from his armful of lilies. In the background, verdant rose bushes bloom. In the religious language of flowers, lilies are a symbol of purity and roses symbolize Mary the “Mystical Rose” (“Rosa Mystica”) herself. The whole is bordered with a brown frame of roses. + Image Credit (M 052): Antique image entitled in Latin as Mater Amabilis, Ora pro Nobis [Mother Most Amiable (or Lovable Mother), Pray for Us] No. 320, original publisher unknown, printed in chromolithography and die-cut in Germany, late 19th-early 20th century, from the designer’s private collection of religious ephemera. “Mother Most Amiable” is the traditional English translation of the Latin term “Mater Amabilis” from the Litany of Loreto; “Lovable Mother”, a more colloquial turn of phrase. + Image Credit (Frame; P 007): The frame has been extracted from a late 19th-century devotional print in chromoxylography of Bl. Isabella of France, sister of St. Louis IX the King, originally published by Friedrich Pustet, Regensburg, New York, and Cincinnati. From the designer’s private collection of religious ephemera.
