Liza Minnelli was born on March 12, 1946, to actress Judy Garland and director Vincente Minnelli. She made her first film debut at 14 months of age in the 1949 film "In The Good Old Summertime". She was first recognized for her talent in a play called "Best Foot Forward" in 1963. A year later her Mother, Judy Garland, invited Liza to appear with her at the London Palladium. The show sold out immediately and a second night's performance was scheduled. Liza went on to receive a Tony award and an Oscar nomination for her role as Pookie Adams in "A Sterile Cuckoo" (1963}. She went on to win an Oscar for her performance as Sally Bowles in the movie "Cabaret" (1972). In the last several years Liza has leaned towards the stage and musical albums. She has done duets with Frank Sinatra on his "Duets" album and Sammy Davis Jr. joined them for numerous concerts and TV shows.
