Sentry Guarding a Gate With his Pet Dog Tissue Paper
- from our Affiliates
This design features a painting by the Dutch artist Carel Fabritius (1622–1654), who was a pupil of Rembrandt. It shows a young male soldier resting on the ground with his pet dog as he acts as a sentry, guarding a gate that leads into a secure area of his town. There is a stone archway attached to a bridge in front of the gate that the sentry is guarding. There is also a stone column, of the type seen commonly in classical Rome. The original artwork was painted by Carel Fabritius in 1654.
