This design features a famous Impressionist painting by Claude Monet (1840–1926). It forms part of a series of views of the monastery-island of San Giorgio Maggiore (in the Venetian dialect, San Zorzi Mazor): its Palladian church is an important landmark of Venice. Monet felt Venice was a city "too beautiful to be painted", however, here he has elegantly captured the beauty of a colorful sunset, in various shades of red, orange, yellow and blue. The original painting was completed in 1908 and it is currently housed in the National Museum Cardiff, Wales.
