This design is based on a textile pattern created by William Morris (1834–1896), who is especially famous for his association with the Arts and Crafts Movement. It shows pink-and-white tulips and red roses against a blue background. The original pattern was created by William Morris in 1885. It has been known as "Garden Tulip", "Tulip Vine" and "Medway".
