The inspiration for this mug was a vintage 1871 stone lithograph featuring the Waverly House Hotel in Elgin Illinois. We have tinted the scanned item with a nice hue of blue. The Waverly house is in view as well as a Chicago Northwestern early Steam train in Elgin Illinois. The scene is a beautiful street scene with horse and carriages trotting down the dirt road. It brings us back to a simpler time.
