Father Christmas, NOEL Birth of Christ Invitation
Walking in the snow and wind Father Christmas, thin and old, in this acrylic painting, makes his journey with a bag of gifts on his back. Along the way he obtained a stout tree branch to help steady him on the uneven path. I have cut many of these myself when back in the woods and needing a hiking stick. His long red coat trimmed on the edges with a bright golden fur keeps him warm in spite of the cold wind we see blowing his long beard. A calm look is in his eyes as he views his next destination from the hill he must descend. Take a close look at the bag on his back and you will see a doll with long hair, a clown, a horse, an elephant, a teddy bear, blue and yellow ball and a wrapped gift. It is also interesting to see him will a small spruce tree with red decorations on the end of each branch. A thoughtful present for a family unable to obtain a tree of their own. And is that a sprig of holly also? Thank you, Merry Christmas, Pam Elifritz
