Madonna Lily Square Sticker
Tonight, by the grace of God I made a very important and very difficult decision. I'm making this post to share this lily drawing and also to mark the night I made this decision. I won't share it with anyone right now, but I believe God has given me a number of signs pointing to this being the right decision. In Catholic iconography, the lily represents purity. The saints depicted as holding lilies dedicated their chastity for the love of God. I have been called to meditate on the meaning of this flower. My abba, St. Joseph, and my patron, St. Joan of Arc, have led me to this flower. I called this account "Opus Lilium" to represent two virtues - which both those saints had in spades - that need to be cultivated in my daily life: DILIGENCE and CHASTITY. God, through the inspiration of the lives of the saints, has offered me a clear path to sainthood. I've always wanted make great art. There came a point where I decided that my life should be God's work of art. I always felt called to harness beauty, but Beauty's power was always too much for me to handle. When God is the one who takes hold of my hands, my soul, my whole self, and He does the painting for me, only then will He be seen.
