Rosie the Riveter "We Can Do It!" was a cultural icon of America during World War II, representing the women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II war effort, many of whom produced munitions and war supplies. These women sometimes took entirely new jobs replacing the male workers who joined the military. The image of Rosie still used by in feminism as a positive symbol for girl power and women empowerment.
