This postcard features the Alaska State Capitol Building. Photo credit: Bernt Rostad, 2014. According to photographer, Rostad, " The front of the Alaska State Capitol Building in Juneau seen from the intersection of 4th and Main St. The building, constructed in an Art Deco style between 1929 and 1931, is six stories high and made from brick-faced reinforced concrete, with a facade of Indiana limestone on the first two floors. The portico has four columns made of Tokeen marble from Prince of Wales Island, which is also used for interior trim. It is one of only ten state capitols that do not feature a dome.
