The Florenceville Bridge is a combination steel-truss span and wooden covered bridge that crosses the Saint John River. It is 49.9 metres long and links East Florenceville to West Florenceville. Because it represents a significant moment in the growth and development of the former village of Florenceville, it is designated as a Local Historic Place. Prior to it being built, residents relied on ferry boats for travel and deliveries. The present bridge was built in 1911 and was built on the site of the original bridge which was built in 1885 but was destroyed by a fire. Florenceville Bridge is also designated for its architectural value as being one of New Brunswick's covered bridges. Originally, the bridge was covered at both ends but in 1932 the west side was destroyed by a fire so now it's only partially covered.
