This jigsaw puzzle features a painting by Richard Dadd called The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke. Richard Dadd was an English painter. He painted this picture from 1855-1864 while being incarcerated in the State Criminal Lunatic Asylum of Bethlem Royal Hospital after murdering his father in1843. To give context to his work, Dadd wrote a lengthy poem, " Elimination of a Picture & its Subject- called The Fellers' Master Stroke. In it , he has given each character in the painting a name and a purpose to demonstrate that the painting was not a product of random, wild inspiration. This painting was also the subject of the rock band Queen's tune called The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke. Freddy Mercury was inspired to write it after seeing the painting in London's Tait Gallery.
