View of the fortress of Alcazaba in Malaga. Fortress of Alcazaba - fortress palace, whose name is translated from Arabic as "citadel", is one of the most visited monuments of the history of the city, in which the historical value and beauty of architecture are harmoniously combined. Built in the era of Muslim domination, the fortress is located at the foot of the mountain of Gibralfaro, on top of which rises an Arab defensive castle, with which the fortress connects a walled passage, called "La Coracha". The fortress is located next to the Roman theater and the customs building (Aduan), which allows you to see the fusion of Roman, Arab and Renaissance cultures at a distance of only a few meters. According to Muslim historians, the fortress was built for the Berber Emir of Granada Badis between 1057 and 1063. In its construction, both imported materials and elements of the adjacent Roman theater-columns and capitals-were used. The fortress of Alcazaba combines its protective purpose with the beauty typical of the Arab palace. According to the traditional architectural principles of Granada, the premises try to combine the play of light and shadow, which Arab master builders so well reached.
