My actions and choices will go to ensuring I stand up for, and support ethics. I will call out and disown deceit. Ethics is doing the right thing, because it is the right thing. If one behaves only because of risk of punishment, that is not ethics, that is obedience. Ethics is honesty, openness. The ethical person is fair. The ethical person can make an unpopular choice but it is made not out of bias, revenge, or hostility but because when all things are weighed the balance tilts that way. Deceit weakens our society. It creates hostility and uncertainty. Make an oath, keep the oath. Make a promise, keep the promise. Do not wish bad things on people, even bad people. These values make a viable society. Anyone can play the My Core Values game.
