NC Wyeth , was an American artist known for his realist paintings and illustrations of the old west. During his lifetime, Wyeth became one of America’s greatest illustrators and he created over 3,000 paintings and illustrations. His early trips to the old west inspired images of cowboys and Native Americans that dramatized the frontier. This painting is called “Roping Wild Horses” and depicts two cowboys with lariats twirling in the air as they try to rope wild horses rushing by the wooden corral fence.
