Frederic Remington was an American painter and writer known for art depicting the cowboys, soldiers and Native Americans of the Old West. His love of the rough heroic cowboys and soldiers took him west as a journalist/illustrator and he producing over 3000 paintings and drawings. This painting is called “Episode – Buffalo Hunt” and depicts an Indian brave being flung over the top of a bison during a buffalo hunt. His horse has been slammed by the buffalo the the Indian flung free.
