God so Loved the World Poster
This is John 3:16 it is one of the most well known verses. I chose to use (YLV) because it is a more literal translation and also in public domain. There are many verses in the Bible talking about being dead in sin. This is what it is talking about here when it says perish. Perish and die mean the same thing. In this verse in Ephesians 2:1 It speaks about being "dead" in sin and then brought to life by Christ. It is speaking of spiritual death and life. Same thing in John 3:16. This translation does not mean that life will end at the end of the age, but it will be different. Who would willingly permanently destroy one who they love? God wills that all will be saved and He is our all powerful, all knowing Creator, Redeemer and Savoir who works all things to the counsel of His own will. If Christ had not come to redeem His creation and to defeat sin and death once and for all, His whole creation would be permanently lost to sin and death. But, God planned to redeem us before He even made one of us. He knows the beginning to the end and He is good, so He made a good plan, in which we must trust and hope. For now we can't see or understand all His ways, nor all the reasons for our suffering. But, He showed us His Great Love by suffering for and with us. Jesus is the Savoir of the World.
