Tahitian Landscape (1891). Artist: Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (1848-1903). Tahitian Landscape (very similar to Mountains in Tahiti) is a vintage post-impressionism fine art painting featuring a typical landscape scene in Tahiti with a man walking along a path towards the mountains and palm trees. Beautiful blue skies and white clouds on a sunny day. About the artist: Paul Gauguin was a leader in the Post-Impressionist movement which extended Impressionism while rejecting its limitations. They continued using vivid colors, thick application of paint, distinctive brushstrokes and real-life subject matter, but they were more inclined to emphasize geometric forms, to distort form for expressive effect, and to use unnatural or arbitrary color.
