Grizzly Bears (c. 1859) by Albert Bierstadt is a vintage American West fine art wild animal portrait painting. A mama grizzly bear is teaching her young bear cubs how to hunt for food. About the artist: Albert Bierstadt (1830-1902) was a German-American painter best known for his lush, sweeping landscapes of the American West. Bierstadt joined several journeys of the Westward Expansion. He was part of the Hudson River School whose style involved carefully detailed paintings with romantic, almost glowing lighting, sometimes called luminism.
