Piti Teina, Two Sisters (1892) by Paul Gauguin is a vintage fine art post impressionism family portrait painting. Two young native Tahitian girls, sisters, siblings, standing in a jungle with tropical flowers in Tahiti. About the artist: Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) was a leader in the Post Impressionist movement which extended Impressionism while rejecting its limitations. They used vivid colors, thick application of paint, distinctive brushstrokes and real-life subject matter, but were more inclined to emphasize geometric forms and to use unnatural or arbitrary color.
