Oferta Para San Esquipula (Offering for San Esquipula)(1918) by Walter Ufer is a vintage fine art American West architecture painting. A native American Indian family going to church to make an offering to the Patron Saint Esquipula. El Santuario de Chimayó is a Roman Catholic church in Chimayó, New Mexico, USA. This santuario (Spanish for sanctuary) is a National Historic Landmark famous for the story of its founding and as a contemporary pilgrimage site. The Santuario is entered through a walled courtyard and is built of adobe with a bell tower on each side. The nave contains a crucifix by the santero "Molleno" representing Christ of Esquipulas. About the artist: Walter Ufer (1876-1936) was a German American artist based in Taos, New Mexico where his most notable work focused on scenes of Native American life, particularly of the Pueblo Indians.
