The Annunciation (detail) (1485) by Sandro Botticelli is a vintage Renaissance Era fine art religious portrait painting. The archangel Gabriel is holding a tree branch with flowers and kneeling in a house of worship. Light is streaming in through the windows of the church and the flowers the angel is holding resemble lilies. About the artist: Sandro Botticelli (1445–1510) was an Italian painter of the Florentine school during the Early Renaissance.
