Still Life with L'Esperance (Hope)(1901) by Paul Gauguin is a vintage post impressionism fine art floral painting in warm autumn tones. Blooming summer sunflowers in a vase and a female figure of a native woman in the corner. About the artist: Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) was a leader in the Post Impressionist movement which extended Impressionism while rejecting its limitations. They used vivid colors, thick application of paint, distinctive brushstrokes and real-life subject matter, but were more inclined to emphasize geometric forms and to use unnatural or arbitrary color.
