Nafea Faa Ipoipo? (When Will You Marry?) (1892) by Paul Gauguin is a vintage fine art post impressionism portraiture painting. The young girl wears a flower in her hair as a symbol of her willingness to get married. A portrait of a Tahitian native mother and daughter sitting under some tropical trees in Tahiti having a serious discussion about marriage and a wedding. About the artist: Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) was a leader in the Post Impressionist movement which extended Impressionism while rejecting its limitations. They used vivid colors, thick application of paint, distinctive brushstrokes and real-life subject matter, but were more inclined to emphasize geometric forms and to use unnatural or arbitrary color.
