Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette (1876) by Pierre Renoir is a vintage impressionism fine art painting. The dancers look to be enjoying themselves and celebrating with a party. Quite possibly Renoir's best known masterpiece. An open-air scene crowded with people having fun dancing at a popular dance garden restaurant on the Butte Montmartre, close to where he lived. About the artist: Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. Renoir's paintings are notable for their vibrant light and saturated color, most often focusing on people in intimate and candid compositions.
