The Yellow House (1888) by Vincent van Gogh is a vintage Post Impressionism fine art architectural daily life painting. The house was in the town of Arles, France and van Gogh rented 4 rooms in the right wing of the building. Paul Gaugin lived in van Gogh's guest room for 9 weeks. The left wing of the building housed a grocery. The building went through several renovations before it was severely damaged in a bombing raid by the Allies during WWII and was later demolished. About the artist: Vincent Willem van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Post Impressionist painter whose work was most notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty, and bold color.
