Susiya is the rental of an ancient synagogue built in the 2nd-3rd Century CE. The region was apparently inhabited by Jews until the 9th C CE. This is part of the mosaic floor of the synagogue. Susiya is in Judea & Samaria, in the southern Judean mountains. It falls today in disputed territory claimed by both Israel and the Arabs, in Area C, under Israeli control according to the Oslo Agreements. The archeological site of Susiya is a marvelous place to visit, a wide vista from the synagogue.
