Winter Ice Hockey Puck Empty Net Postcard
A hockey puck rests in front of an open net at an outdoor skating area on Brewery Creek (Ruisseau de la Brasserie), Quebec, Canada. Hockey is on of our favorite winter sports, and the national sport of Canada. It would be nice to win the cup once in a while, mind you, but lately we've been generously sharing it with non-Canadian teams. We hope to get good karma points for that. This scene is mid-winter January. It's a fantastic sunny day and it feels like spring. The net is old and has some wear and tear. Sunshine sparkles joyfully from above and slightly behind, casting a strong shadow of the empty net. Part of the net iteslf is in shadow. Behind it are some piles of snow. Right in front of the open net, the puck is isolated on the ice, the only dark object in a wide light space. You can see suggestions of skate blades and past activity, giving a lively scuffed or scratch mark texture. The ice colors are lignt blue hues and white, cool and calm.
