Girl in the Garden Hebe the Cupbearer Postcard
This is a statue which stands in front of a lovely white building in Hull (Gatineau) Québec, Canada. I have taken a gadzillion photos of her and absolutely love this mystic silhouette from late winter 2017. The statue is Greek style, very beautiful. In one hand she holds a jug next to her hip, in the other a bowl is held outward. She is a classic goddess figure, and after some research I discovered her identity - Hebe the Cupbearer, daughter of Hera and Zeus, wife of Hercules and Goddess of Youth. She is represented often in painting and sculpture, with various interpretations. Her statue often graces gardens and outdoor locales. Original photography M Sylvia Chaume.
