Little Bighorn Burial Monument Magnet

The remains of 220 soldiers, scouts and civilians are buried around the base of this monument. Originally they were buried where they fell and marked with stones. They were later moved to this monument location. The original stones were left in place on the battlefield. Officers were later moved to various cemeteries, General Custer being laid to rest at West Point. The monument is located in Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in south central Montana.
