With this card, it's sometimes easier to say "no" than to actually say it out loud. Explanations are required that you cannot give yourself, only that you feel overwhelmed, which is often not seen or acknowledged by neurotypical people. Give them the card, it may help! And you, who also know this but don't think you fall into the spectrum of neurodivergence - you can use it too. I didn't know that I had severe ADHD my whole life, I'm now over 60 and it was only recently - finally! - diagnosed. A card like this, knowing what I have, would have helped me immensely. Maybe it's similar for you. And you neurotypical people here - everyone, absolutely every one of you, knows people like us. You know about them. Give them some help with these cards. You wouldn't believe how much you're helping someone. Not just through the card, but also by showing that you see this person and you care about them.
