The historic Upper Falls Covered Bridge, also known as the Downers Covered Bridge, spans the Black River in Weathersfield, Vermont.  Built in 1840 by locally famous bridge builder James Tasker of Claremont, NH, this bridge was completely rebuilt in 2008. This photograph of the original bridge was taken in 2006, before the restoration. Tasker also built several other bridges, including the famed Windsor-Cornish Covered Bridge over Connecticut River between Cornish, NH, and Windsor, VT, the longest wooden covered bridge in the United States and the longest two-span covered bridge in the world. The Cornish-Windsor Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
