I drew this design with Prismacolor colored pencils for Christmas. It was originally conceived as part of a demonstration for my art classes in order to show how to blend and burnish colors smoothly in an interesting text. I had a lot of fun with it, and got the input of students in turning the "Y" into a cookie, and the argyle sweater pattern for the "M" letter. The "E" was always going to be an ornament, but it changed from the original idea of red, to silver, so I could reflect my Christmas tree in it. The whole idea of it started with using candy canes for the "R"s. All in all it was a lot of fun to do, and I really like how it turned out. I drew the holly design a few years ago with prismacolors to add to Christmas present tags.
