This impressionist digital artwork was created from a photo of a field on a ranch outside of Elko, NV. While we see a lot of the purple thistle out on the ranch, we don't get very much poppy. The splash of golden poppy nicely balances the purple thistle. You can see the lumpy disturbed ground toward the front of the picture. That's supposed to be a water diversion but heh - mostly effective to keep the flowers from getting mowed into the hay.
