Traditionally, the first words a Jew is to say upon waking up in the morning. The Hebrew text translates, "Thank You, living and eternal Ruler, for You have restored my soul within me with mercy; How great is Your faithfulness!." Often, it's the first prayer a Jewish child learns and, as such, is a popular gift or room decor item. In the Hebrew text, there is no vocalization, so one can choose to read the first word as "modeh" (masc.) or "modah" (fem.) - and it fits all children.
