The official State Rock of Oklahoma, the Rose Rock, is the barite rose sand quartz, also known as barite rosette or Desert Rose and Noble, Oklahoma is the official Rose Rock Capitol. This photographic postcard features the rose-like mineral crystal formation and honors them both. It is said that there is Cherokee myth and lore that Oklahoma's Desert Rose were formed by the tears of their women and blood of their men who were removed from Georgia to Oklahoma.
