View inside. Set along the Saint Lawrence River, the Basilica of Saint Anne de Beaupre is one of five national shrines of Canada. It was initially built as a shrine to Saint Anne in 1658 and has many testimonies of healings & miracles that still occur at the basilica. The original was destroyed in a fire in 1922, and the present-day basilica was completed in 1946. It is a major place of pilgrimage for Roman Catholics. The architecture is beautiful inside & out!
